Operation Counteract and Counterweight – Citizen Candidates

At Temple of Mut (an Across the Fence favorite, because the blogger is a smart, witty Democratic tea partier) there is a new feature called “Operation Counteract and Counterweight.”  The idea is to give tea partiers a list of true citizen candidates that they can help support.   It’s all about citizen self government…not a new idea…but one that has been largely lost in the last century until the explosion of the tea party movement on the political scene.

The operation counterweight is a good idea, especially the part about finding both fiscally conservative repubs, and fiscally conservative dems, to run in their party primaries. In fact, in a race where both the dem and repub are equally fiscally conservative, I would be quite happy to vote dem. The only reason I vote repub now is fiscally conservative dems seem to be almost non-existent, especially in the dem leadership. There still aren’t near enough fiscally conservative repubs, but at least there are a few.
