California’s Insane Governing Class Shoots for a $250 Billion, Single Payer Health Care System Outlawing Private Health Insurance.
Yes, seriously. California’s legislature is currently considering SB810, which makes Obamacare look like the Obabycare of socialized health care systems. Why? Because they have an extra $250B laying around that they can’t decide how to spend? Because the state isn’t broke enough right now? Because they haven’t yet chased out enough businesses to turn the entire state into a park? Because the current flight of money and intellectual capital isn’t rapid enough? As a California native, I keep having fantasies that this state isn’t going to fall into the ocean (economically speaking, of course). But perhaps at this point I should call those delusions instead of fantasies. What is wrong with the imbeciles who are currently in charge of this state? Are they actually this stupid? Do they not care?
The SoCal Tax Revolt Coalition is working hard to stop this insane piece of legislation. If you care about California, please support them. I know many of you find it hard to care about California, but you should. If California completely crashes, it will drag the rest of the nation with it. Unfortunately, while it’s not “too big to fail,” and certainly shouldn’t be bailed out, it is too big to go down the drain without consequences for the rest of the country.
